Today Kate and I took Marsel to the beach because he had no school. The weather didn't look so good in the morning, so I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to go. Marsel was on top of it. He came to me and said, "Mommy, it looks better outside. Did you see the sun. I think we can go to the beach now." So we went. I thought we were going to be able to stay for just a bit, but we stayed just shy of 2 hours. Which doesn't sound like a long time, but with 2 white girls like us, almost 2 hours is so enough! I'm burnt on one side.
After the beach, we went to Jaxson's Ice Cream. (Jaxson's has been there for 52 years and makes all of their own ice cream. And NOTHING is small there! I think it was Good Morning America, or one of the big morning shows that did a taste test of ice cream places, and Jaxson's was 3rd in the country. It's the home of the Kitchen Sink. And they really do serve it in a sink.) Kate ordered a rootbeer float. I laughed when they brought it. It was HUGE!
