Holy Crap!

The medicine is soooo expensive! It was $123 with the $30 discount that our insurance paid. The doctor's office gave me a $70 coupon for the first fill, so I paid $53. I don't know how we'll do it every month.
We gave it to him this morning, and with in 10 mins. he was telling me his tummy was hurting from the pill. I told him that it wasn't and it was a vitamin. (We don't want him thinking that there is something wrong with him and that's why he needs medicine.) He didn't have school today b/c of the Jewish holiday. (Happy New Year, to any one who is Jewish.) So he was going with his After School Program to the movies. So I told him we would get something to eat after we dropped Adrian off. He started complaining again about his stomach. Now I was starting to believe him. Joel and I can pretty much tell when he's faking. When he really doesn't feel good, he doesn't say much. He'll just tell you he doesn't feel good and then he's really quiet. Which is way out of character for Marsel. So he was going back in forth from complaining to be quiet. I was messing with, saying I must have left Marsel at Adrian's school b/c the back seat is so quiet. So anyway, I dropped him off and the lady there asked him what was wrong. I told her after he walked away, that he told a vitamin this morning and it was bothering his stomach. (We thought we wouldn't say anything at first so we can see if they notice a change in him.) I wasn't at work 10 mins. when I got the call that he had throw up. I talked to him on the phone and as soon as he heard my voice he started crying. He said "Mommy, I puked!" So I went and picked him up and took him back to work with me. He was still a little sad. He told me he didn't like throwing up. I told him that no one does. But once you do it, usually you'll feel better. So he laid down on the massage table and I covered him up. He ended up falling asleep for a little bit. Then when I had my appt., he was so good. I told him I would be in the room across the hall, and only come get me if something was wrong. He just stayed in there playing games on my phone. So we're home now and he's playing Guitar Hero with a friend.
I'm hoping he won't react the same way tomorrow. I know one of the side effects is a stomach. But it said that after awhile, that wouldn't happen anymore. How long is a little while? I don't want to torture him.

Update on Marsel's doctor appointment

So Marsel had his doctor appt today. Joel didn't go with me b/c he had to work. Yesterday I told him I was taking him to the doc and I would pick him up from school early. I told him he wasn't getting any shots, and then he was happy. When I picked him up from school, he said he was waiting for me, he couldn't wait until I got there. I picked him up at 10:45, so he hadn't even been there 3 hours. :)
I have to complain about the doctor's office before I get into the visit. This was Marsel's first time there, but I take Adrian there. So at the last appt. for Adrian I made this appt. for Marsel. At that time, I filled out the paper work. We got there 10 mins. early and I signed him in. Like 25 mins. later they called an Amanda Perez. I asked them who just to make sure I had heard right. (2 visits ago w/ Adrian, they had a different Perez and kept calling him. And then w/ the last appt. they called to confirm Adrian's appt and they called him Adian. So you can see why I was asking about they name. They have a small problem w/ getting the names right.) So finally they call Marsel. I go up there and she asks me if I had an Amanda. No, I have an Adrian who has been here, there is Marsel first time. She looks in the computer and asks if the bday they have is correct, ok, that's right. Then she's up looking for his file. Finally she comes back and says she can't find it. I said he's new here. She got annoyed at me and said you need to fill out that paper over there. I said I did the last time I was here, when I made this appt. So off she goes again looking for it. In the mean time I just fill it out again. None of this was a big deal, just a pain. I usual find that I love the doctor, but the front desk staff is something to be desired. Sometimes this is the case with them.  So finally, after sitting for 50 mins. they call his name. Again they're calling the wrong name, but this time she was just saying wrong. I know that usually you spell Marsel- MARCEL, but when he was born my brother-in-law (Marcel Sr.), he wanted it to be different, so he spelled it with an "s".
So into the room we go. The doc asks a few questions and then does the normal exam, ears, eyes, etc. Then he started asking more questions. Things about how he behaves at school and home. He looked over the papers the we and the teacher filled out. So the end result is that he believes he has ADHD. He's starting him out on the start dose- smallest dose. He wants to hear from me in a month. He said to stay in contact w/ the teacher to see if there is any problems or progress. He said that there are only 2 possible side effects- sleep and eating, both a little less. But he said to keep him posted on it. So I'll probably fill the script today. I want to read up on the meds first. Joel sounded better about the whole subject, not completely on board yet. I told him just b/c he had ADHD, doesn't mean anything. It's not a bad thing. And we're not putting him on it b/c we don't feel like dealing w/ him. We're doing to try and help him be better, and do better in school. I'm hoping this will help Marsel
I don't want to be judged on my choice to put him on something. Everyone has an opinion on this subject, don't put them on something, do put them on something. I had a 50 year old woman tell me that she found out she had it when she was 45 and she doesn't take anything. And that if she can do it w/o meds so can he. Maybe I'm wrong, BUT he's almost 7 and has his whole school life ahead of him. Hers was completely behind her. Slightly different.
Anyway, that's what's going on for now. I'll post some updates after he's been on it for a bit, good or bad.

Me and My Moose

Every morning I get up at 3a.m. to pump milk for Adrian. He's asleep, so is every one else in the house for that matter. That is except for me and Oreo. (I call him Moose. We didn't name him, my brother-in-law did. And if I had gotten to name him, I think I would have named him Moose.) So every morning, when my alarm goes off, he gets up with me. He goes to the kitchen to get the bottles with me. Then he'll come and lay on the couch beside me. When I'm done I tell him, come on Moosie, let's go to back to bed. He gets right back up next and back to sleep we go. Joel and I ended up with Oreo when my brother-in-law left. Joel at the time really didn't want him, and we didn't know when Marcel Sr. was coming back. So I was the one taking care of him. I did the feeding and walking, bathing. I was trying to teach him to be a nice boy. I would take him outside to eat and put my hands all over him and in his bowl. Anyway, because of all that, he has become my dog. Joel calls him a mama's boy all the time. Oreo is my shadow. He makes the 3a.m. wake up call a little easier. Love my Moose.

High School Reunion

So we started the day by having our nails done. (Notice we have the same butterfly on our feet.)

Chrissy all ready to go.

After Kate did our hair and we had our make up done.

Ain't she hot?!

Chris getting her hair done. Great job, Kate.
(Side note, I uploaded these in order.)

Me getting ready to go.

Margaret O'Neill, Chrissy James, me and Jessica Gual
(Just in case you're wondering, I was drinking Sprite all night. Didn't want to get Adrian drunk.)

Dave Best, Chris and me.

So we had a pretty good time. Got to some people we haven't in a long time. It was fun spending the whole day w/ Chris. Wish we lived closer. My feet were killing me by the time we were leaving. Chrissy is so funny, she said she would carry me. Funny girl.

Pictures from Sunday with Grandma and Auntie Kate

These are just some pictures from Sunday when my mom was over and my friend Kate.

Taking a little nap.
He moves so much, he was laying down the crib and he turned this way on his own.

Doesn't he look like such a big man?
Like where's my food ladies?

Playing with Auntie Kate.
 Squeaky clean.

I love Auntie Kate!

To Joel,

My husband, my best friend, my lover. You have made me laugh, and giggle, you have made me cry, you have loved me, you have given me a son, you have given me a house- a home. I am so glad to be your wife. I still think some times, Wow! I'm married to him. I've told you this before and it still holds true. Sometimes when you're sitting watching TV and you have your hand on the back of the couch, I see your wedding ring and I smile because you chose me to marry. Thank you.
You have made me happy for the 3 years we have been married, I hope I can do the same for the rest of our lives.
 I love you.

One Day away from 3 years

Tomorrow is our 3rd anniversary. I can't believe 3 years have flown by. We're not going away this year. Maybe we'll do something later. When money is better. A lot has happened in the 3 years. We both have changed jobs, Marsel's adoption became final, we decided to sell our house, (we haven't yet), we had Adrian, Marsel started kindergarten and now 1st grade. A lot.

Sanibel Island, Fla. Where we went on our 1st anniversary
Las Vegas, NV. Our 2nd anniversary. This is in the Bellagio.

Marsel's football picture

Not just a fluke

Adrian and Marsel

Sleeping just like daddy-one knee up.

Three nights ago, Adrian had turned over in the middle of the night. We thought that maybe it was just an accident on his part. It wasn't. He did 3 times last night. I woke around 1am to hear him talking to himself. I watched him on the monitor and he was playing with his feet. I nodded off for like a few mins. and he started making little fussing noises. He had turned over and couldn't figure out how to turn his head to the side. So he looked like a bug upset down. He had his head up and his feet up, wiggling around. So I went and turned him over. That only made him more upset, but he did go back to sleep. On his belly.
They said at school he was doing it in his crib. Now we just need to teach him how to get back over onto his back.

Crazy Parents

Last night Marsel had a football game. Now Marsel is 6 years old and he plays for the city. It's flag football. It's pretty cool to watch them run around. Anyway, the season is almost over.  The end of this month I think. His team is pretty good. I think they've lost 2 games.
So back to last night's game. We played this team about a week ago, and it was such a good game. Very close. We were winning up until the 4th quarter, and they ended up winning by 2 points. Last night was close again. Right off the bat, it got entertaining. One of the coach's on the other team starting yelling at the ref. Saying that he was calling off sides on his team, but not ours. The ref said that the kids are 6 years old. They are always off sides and if they called everything the game would never finish. Joel is an assistant coach and was standing on the same side of the field as the "fighting" coach. He started complaining to Joel that he's only doing it to their team. I was standing on the other side of the field with my mouth open. The ref told the coach if he didn't quite down he was going to kick him out of the game. So that was in the 1st quarter.
Fast forward to the 4th quarter. Again the game is very close, we're ahead by a touch down. This is exactly how it was at the last game. At this point the parents are very much into it. At the 1st down there are a couple of parents standing up and yelling to the kids, telling them what to do. They were following the kids at each down. Following them down the field. And they're getting louder and louder. It was all very silly. The ref had to tell them if they didn't relax, he was going to ask them to leave, it's suppose to be fun for them.
I wish I had brought my camera for all of it. And to top it off, there was a father from the other team, I just wanted to smack him. I had Adrain in the sling thingy, and he was sleeping. So this dad, is in front of me where ever I was standing. He was walking with a cane, said he was in a car accident and his back hurts ever now and then. So he's limping up and down the field. Towards the end of the game, when things are getting hairy, he kept squatting down and stomping the foot on the side with the limp. Now, none of this would have bothered me. Sorry he got hurt. But he was so ridiculous. The things he was yelling. I wanted to grab his cane and hit him with it. I know, so mean. Like I said I wish I had my camera for all of it. Plus to see Marsel out there in his jersey. Too cute.
He has another game on Friday night, so I'll try and remember it.
On another note, Adrian is doing better. Cough is almost gone. And back to smiling a whole bunch.  And our 3rd anniversary is coming up. It's next Wed. the 24th. We don't have any plans. We talked about going to the Islamorada Fish Co. because we ate the one in the Keys on our honeymoon. And there' s one not far from our house. But nothing is set in stone. So we'll see.

Went to the doctor's

This morning Adrian woke up around 5:30. Not like him. He usual goes until 7. He was whimpering a little bit. So I gave him some Motrin. I had put the vaporizer in the room, which I think helped, he didn't cough very much throughout the night. When he started crying, his little voice was horse. So at 8, I called his doctor's office. I told the lady that I needed to bring him and why. I told her this morning he sounded horse and he's only 4 months old, so it's not like he was out partying to hard and lost his voice.
So he has a cold, but the doctor said it wasn't bad. Not in his chest or ears. Which is great. She said to keep doing the vaporizer and use a saline spray for his nose before he eats and sleeps. He didn't like that too much. Neither did Marsel when he was little. What is it about babies and hating having their noses touched?
The good thing about everything, is that he's still in a good mood - most of the time. :)

On a completely different topic, if you could say a prayer. I have family in western Lou. We haven't heard from them yet this morning. Last night when my mom and I spoke to my aunt, she said it was getting bad. So like I said, a prayer would be wonderful.

BTW Fre, I have that bath wash for Adrian. I used it on him last night. Thanks.

All alone

Adrian, Krypto, Oreo and I are going it alone this weekend. Joel took Marsel with him to Tampa. I hate when he's gone.
It wouldn't be so bad, but Adrian has his first cold. I know I sound stupid, big deal, it's only a cold. But he's my baby. And he sounds so pitiful. He's so stuffy and his little cough. Pitiful I tell you. I put together his pac-n-play in our room so he could sleep in there tonight. Good lord, what will I be like when he goes to kindergarten or holy crap when he moves out!
It really is amazing how you can love some one so much so quickly.

Mmmm...

We started giving Adrian cereal the other day. So far so good. He's so cute when he opens his mouth. He doesn't open it every time, maybe every 3rd time.
We think that he may be getting his 1st cold. I noticed his nose was running a little on Tuesday night at Marsel's football game. It was pretty windy that night, b/c of Hurr. Ike passing through.(What we got of Ike anyway.) So I thought maybe it was just the wind. But it was still a little runny today. And he's been cranky the past 2 days on and off. That's not like him. And now, as I'm writing this, I can hear him coughing every now and then. My poor boy.
On top of all that, we think he may be getting his teeth soon. He was drooling like a dog. A photographer came over yesterday to take some pics of him. He was moving all over. At one point we had to stop and give him a break. He wanted so badly to put his hands in his mouth. And every time he did they would stop, take them out of his mouth and wipe his face. This would just piss him off. He would drop his head down so you couldn't see his face. He was going to get those hands in his mouth no matter what they did. He already acts like his a movie star.
Anyhoo, here's picture of him eating his cereal this morning and one of him playing.

      You talking to me mom?

He looks like he's had enough of the camera.

4 Months Doctor Visit...

Adrian had his 4 months check up today. The report was good. He's up to 16lbs. 10 1/2oz. And 27 1/2in. Growing like a weed. He did pretty well with the shots too. Poor thing had to have 4 shots. He's funny, he didn't cry until the nurse was done with the 2nd one. So hopefully he'll have a good night. The doctor told me that he should start to rollover soon. Can't wait.
He's sleeping 12 hours now. He has his nightly schedule: bath, eat and bed by 7p.m. And he's out until 7a.m. Such a good boy! Thanks to Lana and Jessy. I would probably still being trying to get his schedule set. Thanks girls!
While we were there I spoke to the doctor about checking Marsel for ADHD. I'm really hoping he doesn't have, but we'll see. I take him back on Sept. 29.
